Fysak Camp offers complementary physical activities to children, in order to increase children’s physical and mental health. Camilla also aims at building a solid starting point for children in order to maintain and enjoy a healthy lifestyle throughout life.
15% of 9-year- olds in Norway are overweight and are not enough active. We know that children and adolescents need at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day, however, this does not correlate with the daily life of many children in Norway.
Furthermore, many children do not thrive and find their place in organized sports, such as soccer or handball. There is a lack of alternative activities for these children, and many end up having strained relations to physical activities throughout life, which in turn often lead to health problems.
Fysak Camp offers complementary activities for children from 4 th -7 th grade, right after the school day has ended. The aim is that the children experience the joy of outdoor activities as well as interacting with other children. At Fysak Camp kids get to master new activities, games and sports, which in turn enables the children to have fun and experience increased self-esteem. Versatile and fun activities are central, in order to let the children, find new arenas where they thrive.
